* WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic is concerned with the total health and well being of the individual through a nervous system that is free from interference.
Today many people associate chiropractic with the care of back pain, neck ache and stiff joints. When chiropractic was originally developed, however, nothing was further from the founder's mind that these concepts of treating aches and pains in the body.
* WHY DO WE GET ILL?*
Our bodies continually regenerate throughtout our lives; 98% of the cells in our tissues and orgrans are replaced every two years.
If we are replacing the parts of the body continually, why is it that the newly recreated parts are not always healthy and vital? Why would the body produce new tissues that are in a state of dis-ease?
Regeneration of disease occurs with a nervous system which may be operating at less that it's optimal level.
* YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

Your brain and spinal cord, through a vast network of nerves, carries information to maintain and organize the myriad functions of your body. Your brain and spinal cord are the only tissues in your body that are completely surrounded and protected by bone (the skull and spinal column). Yet when misalignment between theses bones, or a mal-position of the spinal column as a whole occurs, the proper function of the nerves coming from the brain or spinal cord can be interfered with. This may completely or partially choke off the information transmitted by the nerves, thus disturbing your body's coordinating intelligence.
This disturbance of nervous function is termed vertebral subluxation by chiropractors. It is generally the result of physical trauma, emotional/mental or chemical stress which adversely affects the nervous system.
Your brain "talks" to your body via the nerve supply, much as we communicate over a telephone line. When there is static on the line, we can still hear, but it is much harder to make out the words. Similarly, vertebral subluxations make it hard for your body to "hear" the correct instructions from your brain.
* THE CHIROPRACTIC SOLUTION
Your chiropractor realigns your body and increases nerve function to an optimal level, employing very specific adjustments to the affected vertebrae. The body tissues then receive clear signals from the brain, and thus may operate free from interference, creating an internal environment for health rather than disease. This is not a "quick fix" for health problems, but a tool to improve health and well-being throughout your life.
